Frequently asked questions
Is Primer real trading?
No. Primer is a paper-trading simulator. It runs a strategy against real market prices with fake money. There is no exchange authentication and no order-placement code anywhere in the app.
Does it cost anything?
No. The whole platform is free: the dashboard, the AI tutor's offline mode, the full course, quizzes and the chart trainer.
Do I need to know how to trade already?
No. Primer is written for someone new to trading. The course starts from what a market is and builds up to reading candlesticks, managing risk, and testing a system.
What is the trading strategy?
A deterministic moving-average trend strategy: it goes long only when the fast 30-bar SMA is above the slow 90-bar SMA and price is above a rising 200-bar trend line, with an ATR trailing stop and a 1% risk cap per trade.
Will it make money?
There is no guarantee of profit. Primer is a learning and strategy-evaluation tool, not a proven money-making system. Backtests overfit and live results are usually worse.
